Tephra Rising: The Colony – Book One

A story of finding a new life

Life on land had become steadily worse over the past century. The Alliance had a firm grip on everything. For those, like Cynthia, who were denied membership, they would never get ahead. But Cynthia’s life was about to change by a chance meeting with two recruiters for a civilization housed under the sea, called the Colony. The Colony promised a purpose-filled life where people work and live based on their best skills and talents. No money required. All is provided for. She joins and her name is changed to Tephra as all names in the Colony must reflect the natural elements. Tephra quickly learns that the promises of the Colony are about to unravel due to the ruthlessness of a new leader, Supreme Principal Cosmotine. Lusting for power, and wanting to conquer land, Comotine’s plan will destroy the Colony if he succeeds. Tephra falls in with a band of rebels who seek to return their home to its former glory. Thanks to her past, Tephra becomes the rebel’s leader and teaches the Colonists how to stand up and fight for what they believe in.
